The daily life.

So, it seems to me that I have been too involved in living the good life and contemplating serenity, to spend time writing about it.

But if we're being for real about it,  I have actually been working MORE at a "J-O-B" and that seriously cuts into my blogging time.  That and living the good life while contemplating serenity.

Yep.  I am working "hours" and "shifts" at the "job" and slowly increasing my time there to be a full-time member again.  It's not as satisfying as painting all day, but it pays the bills and puts money in the bank, which is a good thing, FOR NOW.

I am also still taking time to paint, to think, to write, to run, to read, to play, to laugh and love.  To live my life as well as I can for as long as I have and to make sure the ones I love get a big enough piece of me (and I of them) so as to make a grand deposit of memories and good times in the bank of my heart.
Because that's the bank account I care about most.
And that's the one I am focusing my good energy on.

I'm cooking up a plan for 2012 that looks a lot like memory making, but with a focus on the daily life. I don't want to just capture the moments in time that are obviously special: the birthdays, the holidays, family vacations, family outings; but also the daily grind.  The real life bits.  I want this year to be recorded as never before so I can remember that flux in time when my kids were still kids, when my man and I are still young parents, and when my family is still healthy and active.  Time's marching on and I can't wage war against that.  It's going forward, the kids are growing up (my boy is SIXTEEN in 8 weeks!), our hair is getting whiter, our parents are retiring, life is moving and I want to capture it as it goes.  I want to see it as we grow older and deeper in love and live it in "for-real" style.
I haven't fully committed to a plan that has shape yet, but I know there will lots of pictures, writing and loving going on.  I have fully committed to just making the daily life a joy to behold.

So amidst the piles of laundry and dishes and homework and groceries I will eek out and capture the beauty and the magic that are in those mundane moments and record them for posterity and good measure.  Because there is magic in the mundane and beauty in the ordinary and life moves fast.  I need to jump on this ride and appreciate all it has to offer.  There will never be another today like today or another year like this year and I don't want to forget.  I will be a "forget-me-not". Here we go.

P.S. stayed tuned this week to see what my chosen motto for 2012 is going to be (I've been dropping hints), as well as a new and exciting feature that will be happening on this blog starting this Friday, January 13.  Because, heck, why not start something new on Friday the thirteenth.  I'm not scared.  Are you?
