Hey there. I see that I have some new readers hanging around lately, and I want to welcome you and let you in on a few things relevant to this space.
This blog was begun last June when I was in a dark hole of anxiety and depression which had arisen from intense stress related to the full time J-O-B I was working. You don't really need to know too much about the J-O-B except that there was a lot of negative feedback and high pressures to perform tasks that were usually unrealistic and sometimes, ridiculous.
So, in May of 2011, I left the J-O-B on a medical leave and fell into a deep, deep, deep abyss of depression.
My heart and my brain longed to find the light.
My family longed to have the "real" me back...but I had NO IDEA who THAT person was anymore. That person had been lost.
Gone.
Buried under a heap of expectations and stressors and dissatisfying work that I poured every ounce of effort and care into.
Then, one day as I spent time zoning out online, tripping across different sites and blogs related to family life, depression, anxiety and the like, I found some art and photography websites that sparked a light in my spirit again. I remembered then who I really, truly was and what I really truly wanted to do in life: Create, Love, Live, Be satisfied, Be honored, Be Happy. And Create.
SO, then, I began to draw again. I pulled out my Prisma Color pencil crayons and began to color again. I found photo challenges and started shooting again, increasing my artist's eye and understanding composition, light and angles better than ever.
And, I found myself. Right there in the middle of writing this blog, drawing pictures and taking photos. I found my heart, my spirit, my truth. I had set out to "FIND THE TRUE" and I had succeeded.
I haven't shared the existence of this blog with many people that I know. My husband and children know about it. Two or three of my best girlfriends know about it, and I have gained anonymous readers from around the world. But most of the folks that I know in my life DO NOT HAVE A CLUE. Not even my mother, sister or in-laws know that I write this blog, and that is because it started out as a personal journal and it contains loads of vulnerability that I am working through accepting and learning to share, but that I haven't quite figured out just yet.
And so, as I write this now, I know that people around me have started to read the blog, and that is what it is. It was bound to eventually be found, and I have never kept it as a private log in terms of the online search capabilities. But now you also know why I haven't mentioned it in daily conversation.
If you would like to know more about how I feel on this tack, please check this out:TERMS AND CONDITIONS AND OTHER INFORMATION ABOUT THE BLOG I WRITE.
Thanks for stopping by. If you are here, please don't be a peeping TOM. Leave me a comment and let me know you are peering in on my private ramblings. It is the courteous thing to do.
