This weekend was spent ringing in a new month, partay style! We literally spent most of our minutes entertaining and being entertained, in the comfort of company derived from old friends, old family, teens, seven-year-olds, toddlers and new babes.
We ate home-cooked chinese food, grilled burgers, fresh fruit, turtle cheesecake and mini ice cream cones. We talked about growing tomatoes, patio gardening, puppies, babies and jobs. We celebrated a birthday, played scrabble, jumped on the trampoline, drank beer and fake mojitos (my bad!) and schmoozed over a photo I took that my mom had mounted on a canvas.
I hugged TIGHT to my Grandma, sent my guests home with baked potatoes as a party favour and left a pile of dishes for the morning. I also made my life easy and stress free by serving pre-formed burgers, fresh fruit and mini cones for dinner on Royal Chinet dinner plates. THAT was AMAZING! And one of the best choices I've made this year.
Some of the other radical choices I am making starts with the little WISHES & INTENTIONS list seen at the top of the post. It is my intention to choose goals that are reasonable and meaningful to me because it is my wish to cultivate more joy and gratitude out of this life I'm living.
Because, really, when you get right down to it, living my life with gratitude, joy, contentment and happiness is the only job I need to focus on. That is my true calling, and if you ask me, I did a really good job of that this weekend.
Here's to living the good life full of reasonable and joy-filled wishes & intentions, loving family & friends, and laughing, living, en-joying the days that fill up our lives: moment to moment.
