My story.
Your story matters. It’s an integral element to the delicate fabric of the human race. Your moments are monumental, big or small, because they make you who you are. Share your journey in whatever way feels right for you. Just remember to leave someone the key to your story. It’s your legacy. It deserves to be told and shared.
I found this snippet of profound wisdom over at the Kind Over Matter blog yesterday. It was in an article written by Megan Collier of Everlasting Present. The crux of this statement is exactly what I've been aiming to do over this past year on my own blog and in my own life.
I started my blog as a way to eek out a space where I could find the strength to crawl out of the dark, damp, dreary hole of depression. That time in my life, just over a year ago, was the turning point for me to finally start living my life--FOR REAL.
However, since then, I feel I haven't fully lived up to my goals. I have used the blog to document the stuff of life, but I haven't fully lived up to sharing or cultivating the potential of my creativity. I have been held back by some logistics of my J-O-B and by my own fears.
To be sure, I have been working hard this year to move my life over from the J-O-B to my own creative enterprises. However, I feel that the J-O-B and my inherent fears of leaving what is secure and known have taken the stage as the main body of my story. Don't get me wrong: they are important elements. Without them the story would not be the same and it wouldn't be mine; but for too long, they have been the dominant characters playing out the drama and I am done with that.
A new chapter needs to be written.
I am all done with hiding and not sharing. Here & Now. This is the time. This is the place.
My story matters and the story I want to share is about loving my life, creating art and sharing beauty with the world.
I hope you will continue to follow along and watch as I eek out this new and exciting chapter of my story.
