Friday frolics + frustrations.

It's the last Friday of a two-week Spring Break for the local kids, which means I am one weekend away from getting back to a "somewhat normal" routine.
I cannot exclaim emphatically enough how excited that makes me.
And that in itself is odd, because I usually LOVE having my kids home, and having a break from lunches and routine for me is usually AWESOME.  (Sagittarius's love the freedom of no routine, but we are also very adaptable).

I have been trudging through some sticky patches the past two weeks, and so I guess that explains my need for down time (read: children back in school so I can think thoughts and do things without being interrupted by constant questions and concerns about what the puppy is eating in the corner.)

And, that brings me to the other conundrum: we have a new pup!
Her name is RUBY and she looks like a mini-boxer, but funny thing is she has no boxer in her.
Her dad is a Boston-Terrier, her mom a Cocker Spaniel-Pekingese.
(A combination that turns out puppies full of cute and with bonafide super powers: the kind that steals hearts and melts them into mush)!

So yes, life has been full of wonderful, but rife with adaptation and my brain needs a break!  (I'm also a little bleary-eyed from all the 2 am pee runs she has me doing.  Lucky she's SOSOSOSOSO CUTE!)

The other thing is, I finally splurged and bought myself the Photoshop Creative Suite 5 for Mac (PS CS 5) and I am so excited, but I am also lacking knowledge of its functions, so I've been working in most of my spare time to try to learn this thing on my own.

And that is an exercise in frustration!  But so worth it!

This is my first attempt.  I added text to a shot of a daffodil I took.  Not a big deal to most, but to me it's a major milestone, so there!  I also shared a text only piece yesterday on the blog (HERE) called  I WILL.
Anyway, it's Friday and I have spent the past two weeks abstaining from red wine for various reasons, but I think I might host a "come meet Ruby" dinner party and I may just offer my guests some wine.  (Maybe I'll have a sip or two myself).

Okay, Spring, let's do this.  Bring on the sunshine, lady!
