A mother's love.

I am breathing sighs of relief this morning and I'm not sure if I'm okay with that really.

The children headed back to school after two weeks at home and I found myself literally smiling in the shower at this thought--which makes me feel like a horrible mother.  Seriously.

I know many parents feel this relief after their kids head back after a prolonged break, but I usually feel sad that there isn't more time to be together.  I guess this go 'round was full of too much togetherness and too much newness to warrant sadness at their departure.  And that makes me kinda sad.
But I am really happy to be here, also.  Messed up, I know!

Oy.

To all you ladies out there who haven't yet had children but are planning on it, know this: the above ramblings are the outcome of motherhood.  You struggle between feeling happy to have moments to yourself and feeling guilty that you feel happy when your children aren't around.  Then feeling sad that they're not around, to feeling overwhelmed the minute they walk back through that door.
It's quite a ride.  Quite a ride.

Anyhow, with my new freedom I am planning on spending some time researching ways to use my new program: PHOTOSHOP CREATIVE SUITE 5.  I will also be folding a mountain of clean laundry since apparently the laundry fairy took a vacation.
Wait a minute!  The laundry fairy is me!  Oh, that's right, I was working full-time the past week.  That's why the clean laundry is patiently waiting for me.
HA!

Then I may have a meeting with a potential client to talk about creating some script work for her Aveda Salon, and in between there I might carve out  some time to have tea and apply heat to a shoulder that has been overused and is experiencing some major pain and fatigue.  Sounds good.

Happy Monday.  (Hope it's full of happy without a side of sadness and guilt).
